GoDaddy: change nameservers or add a Pages CNAME

Follow the current GoDaddy Domain Portfolio paths without deleting email or unrelated DNS records.

Use only the path AlphaBlue confirmed for your project. The nameserver path moves active DNS management to Cloudflare; the CNAME path keeps DNS at GoDaddy and connects one Pages subdomain.

Before saving, capture your current nameservers and full DNS record list. If you use domain email, tell AlphaBlue. Never select a reset or delete-all action.

Path A: let AlphaBlue manage DNS

Continue only after AlphaBlue confirms that the replacement Cloudflare zone and copied records are ready and gives you two exact nameservers.

  1. Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
  2. Select the individual domain to open Domain Settings.
  3. Select DNS, then Nameservers.
  4. Choose the option to change the nameservers and enter your own nameservers.
  5. Remove the old values only at this stage.
  6. Enter the two Cloudflare nameservers supplied by AlphaBlue, exactly as written.
  7. Review the warning and save the change.
  8. Complete GoDaddy account verification if it requests a one-time password.
  9. Return to the domain and capture a screenshot showing both saved nameservers.
  10. Send the screenshot to AlphaBlue and wait for verification.

Do not edit ordinary NS records inside the DNS record table. Authoritative nameservers are changed through the Nameservers control.

Path B: keep GoDaddy DNS and add a Pages CNAME

Continue only after AlphaBlue registers your hostname in Cloudflare Pages and sends the exact record card.

  1. Sign in to the GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
  2. Select the domain and open DNS.
  3. Review the DNS record list for the exact Name supplied by AlphaBlue.
  4. If the same name already has an A, AAAA, CNAME or forwarding setting, stop and send a screenshot.
  5. Select Add New Record or Add.
  6. Choose CNAME as the type.
  7. In Name, enter the exact subdomain label, such as www, from the AlphaBlue card.
  8. In Value, enter the exact <project>.pages.dev target without https:// or a path.
  9. Leave TTL at the GoDaddy default unless AlphaBlue specifies otherwise.
  10. Save and complete account verification if requested.
  11. Capture the saved CNAME and send it to AlphaBlue.

Stop and contact AlphaBlue if

  • GoDaddy says the domain uses nameservers elsewhere;
  • DNS records are not editable;
  • an existing website, forwarding or CNAME uses the requested hostname;
  • the interface asks you to delete email records;
  • the saved target is changed or rejected.
